DescriptionThe whole story▼

The BMW F800GT is a sport tourer with a parallel twin, a belt drive and a comfortable seat, and its owners tend to value machines that keep going without constant attention. It is a sensible, economical bike that still enjoys a good bend, and that mindset shapes how owners judge small parts: what wears, what can be replaced, what lasts. Judged that way, Accossato's FC103 has a point in its favour: the quick-release cap for the F800GT of 2011 to 2019 is machined from aluminium, and its pawl can be replaced on its own.

Key Features

  • Quick-release fuel tank cap for the BMW F800GT, 2011 to 2019
  • Entirely CNC-machined aluminium
  • Quick-closing pawl
  • Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
  • Pawl sold separately, so only the damaged part is replaced
  • Robust and durable according to Accossato
  • No German ABE documented; track use

Construction and Material Quality

The FC103 is CNC-machined from aluminium in its entirety, and Accossato calls it robust and durable. It has a new design, and it closes with a quick-closing pawl that opens the F800GT's tank quickly and shuts it again just as swiftly. The pawl can be had in six colours, and it is also sold on its own, a detail that fits the F800GT well.

Replace the Part, Not the Whole

The toothed belt that drives the F800GT's rear wheel is a good example of the bike's character. It needs no oiling and much less adjustment than a chain, and when it finally wears out, you change the belt and leave the rest alone. The FC103 follows a similar logic. The part of a quick-release cap that moves every time you refuel is the pawl, and it is also the part that a knock or a bit of grit is most likely to harm. Rather than asking you to discard a machined aluminium cap because of that, Accossato sells the pawl separately. Keep the order details and the pawl colour in the bike's service folder, check the pawl whenever you clean the bike, and replace it if it no longer closes cleanly. The cap body can stay where it is.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's application list pairs the FC103 with the F 800 GT from 2011 to 2019. The same cap appears at Inter-Pace for the F800R, which shares much of the GT's engineering, and for the K1600 GT. Please check your model against the list before you order.

Road Approval

No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC103; we sell it for use on closed circuits. The F800GT's original cap usually opens with the ignition key and should remain in place for the road.

Scope of Delivery
