DescriptionThe whole story▼
A remote brake adjuster is a racing tool, and on a Moto Morini Corsaro 1200 it is an unusual one. Accossato lists its RA001, a folding brake lever with a 90-degree remote adjuster, for the Corsaro 1200 from 2007 to 2017. The adjuster exists so that a rider can change the lever setting with the left hand during a race, keeping the right hand on the throttle and staying out of the pits. The lever fits the original brake master cylinder, and using the adjuster well is a skill of its own.
Key Features
- Folding brake lever with 90-degree remote adjuster for the Moto Morini Corsaro 1200, 2007 to 2017
- Lever setting changed with the left hand while riding
- Holder in 35 mm or 60 mm
- Fits the original brake master cylinder
- Hinged blade that can fold away in a fall
- RST lightening cut-out or plain NRST blade
- Blade in black, blue, gold, green, orange, red or silver
- No German ABE documented, sold for racing
Construction and Material Quality
The RA001 is meant for racing, which means it is used in gloves and at speed. Accossato machines the lever from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodises it; the remote adjuster comes with it. The lever consists of a black base on the master cylinder pivot and a coloured blade joined to it by a hinge. Accossato makes the holder for the adjuster in two sizes, 35 mm and 60 mm. You choose one of seven blade colours and decide between the RST blade, with a lightening cut-out, and the NRST blade.
Learning the Adjuster by Feel
Nobody should reach for a remote adjuster for the first time at full speed. Start in the paddock, sitting on the Corsaro 1200 with the engine off: find the adjuster with the left hand without looking, make a change, and feel what it does to the lever under the right hand. Then take the bike onto the track at a moderate pace and make one change on the longest straight, with the bike upright and stable. Only when the movement has become automatic does it belong in a race. Two rules help: change the setting in small steps, and remember which way you changed it, so you can go back. Used like this, the RA001 gives the Corsaro 1200 something usually found on dedicated race machines, a brake lever that can be retuned between one corner and the next.
Fitment and Compatibility
The RA001 is listed by Accossato for the Corsaro 1200 from 2007 to 2017, with the Carbon and Veloce versions named alongside the standard bike. It takes the place of the brake lever, so it is an alternative to the LV012, Accossato's folding brake lever without remote adjuster for the same years. The clutch side has two folding options, the LV008 and the LV014.
Road Approval
The RA001 is a competition part without documented German ABE, and we sell it accordingly for the track.
