DescriptionThe whole story▼

Many CB1100 riders remember the original four-cylinder CBs from their youth, and some have come back to motorcycling after a long break. Their enthusiasm is what it always was; their hands may not be. Grip strength fades gradually over the years, and a firm clutch in slow traffic is often the first place a rider notices it. The ESH033 from Accossato addresses exactly that: a clutch lever for the 2013 to 2019 CB1100 with adjustable reach and a long blade that lightens the pull.

Key Features

  • Clutch lever for the Honda CB1100 of 2013 to 2019
  • Fits the original clutch mounting
  • Distance to the grip adjustable
  • Long blade for more leverage, in blue, gold, green and orange
  • Standard length roughly 138 mm, short version also available
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised, black hub
  • No folding joint
  • Sold for track use, no German ABE documented

Construction and Material Quality

The ESH033 is a milled aluminium part with an anodised finish. Its black hub holds the pivot and the adjuster; the blade, in the colour you order, is solid and fixed along its whole length. With no hinge in the lever, the effort you put in reaches the clutch instead of being lost in a joint, and the take-up feels the same every time. The anodised surface is hard and even, and a silver or black blade keeps the CB1100 close to its classic look.

Hands With a Few Decades Behind Them

Leverage is simple physics: the further from the pivot your fingers pull, the less force they need to move the same clutch. The long ESH033 puts more blade out where the fingers work, so holding the clutch at a set of traffic lights or feeding it out in a queue takes noticeably less effort. The reach adjuster adds a second kind of relief. Fingers that no longer open as wide as they once did can bring the blade in closer, so the lever is gripped with the hand partly closed, where it is strongest, instead of at full stretch. On cold mornings, when joints are stiff, that closer position helps too. Take the time to find the setting in your usual gloves, ride a few short loops, and adjust again if needed. With the lever set properly, a day in the saddle of the CB1100 tends to end with a hand that is pleasantly tired rather than aching.

Fitment and Compatibility

Model years 2013 to 2019 of the CB1100 are on Accossato's list for the ESH033, among them the version named CB 1100 Gio Special. It replaces the original lever at the stock clutch mounting. On the brake side, the matching Accossato lever for these years is the EDF018. The short blade is made in blue, gold, green, orange and silver; black and red blades come only in the standard length.

Road Approval

Accossato's ESH033 has no documented German ABE, and it is offered here for the racetrack.
