DescriptionThe whole story▼

With the Hypermotard 950 of 2019, Ducati moved the model closer to its supermoto roots: a new frame, slimmer bodywork and a seat that invites you to slide right up against the tank. Riding it that way changes how the hand meets the brake. The elbows go up, the wrist rolls over the grip, and the fingers approach the blade from above rather than from behind. The EDF099 from Accossato is a machined aluminium replacement for the front brake lever of the 2019 to 2025 Hypermotard 950, and its adjustable reach can follow that change.

Key Features

  • For the Hypermotard 950, model years 2019 to 2025
  • Pivots on the original master cylinder
  • Reach adjustable near the pivot
  • Three blade lengths, standard approximately 138 mm
  • Seven colours for the blade, hub always black
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
  • Rigid blade, no hinge
  • No documented German ABE, for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The order of work explains the finish. First the shape, the pivot bore and the seat for the reach adjuster are machined from a solid aluminium blank; only then is the lever anodised, the hub in black and the blade in the shade you choose. That leaves a hard, even surface on every face of the part. The blade is rigid and continuous, without a folding joint, so the lever that meets your fingers in the first corner of the day behaves exactly the same in the last.

Elbows Up, Weight Forward

Supermoto technique puts the rider far forward on the seat, the inside elbow raised and the outside one pointing out. On the Hypermotard 950 this position comes naturally, and it changes the geometry of braking. With the wrist rolled over the grip, fingers that reached the lever comfortably when you sat back may now meet it only at the tips. Bringing the blade closer with the adjuster restores contact at the first finger joint.

Some riders also angle the brake assembly on the bar a little lower to suit the raised elbows, which is set at its clamp rather than at the lever. For this style the short blade makes sense: it clears the outer fingers, which stay wrapped around the throttle while two fingers do the braking.

Fitment and Compatibility

This brake lever carries Accossato's listing for the Hypermotard 950 from 2019 to 2025. The matching Accossato clutch lever, the ESH011, is listed for a shorter period, 2019 to 2022, so for a bike from 2023 onwards Accossato names this brake lever only. The Hypermotard 950 SP has a separate product page.

Road Approval

In the absence of a documented German ABE, we offer this brake lever for use on circuits.
