The Sunny line pairs a plain shell with a camel-coloured interior trim, and that single change alters the whole character of the helmet — from urban equipment to something closer to a piece of clothing.

What an open-face helmet does and does not do

An open-face is a deliberate compromise rather than a compromised full-face. The gain is real: unobstructed sight lines, air on your face in traffic, and 1325 g that you stop noticing after five minutes.

🔵 The loss is chin and jaw protection entirely. ECE 22-06's jet category covers the rest of the head and not that.

About the Sunny Black Camel finish

Trim matters more on a jet than on any other helmet type, because the face opening is enormous and the edging runs all the way around it in full view. A camel-toned trim against a matt black shell is a two-material contrast rather than a two-colour one, and it is what separates the Sunny line from the slightly cheaper plain versions. It also pairs naturally with brown leather and with the tan-and-black palette most urban riding gear uses. 🔵 Light-coloured trim shows wear and skin contact sooner than black trim does — it is the part of this helmet that will age visibly first.

Polyfusion, two shells and three approvals

The Polyfusion shell is described by Nexx as compact, and on a jet that matters visually as much as structurally — an open-face is read as a shape on your head, with no chin bar to disguise the proportions.

The sun visor, the peak — and the clear visor that is not there

Peripheral vision is the whole reason to wear an open-face, and a sun visor that narrows it defeats the purpose. Nexx made this one deliberately wide for exactly that reason.

🔵 It is lightly tinted and there is no clear visor in the box — the helmet ships with a peak instead.

Airflow on an open-face

City riding is the hardest ventilation case there is: repeated stops, no airflow, and heat radiating off the road and the traffic around you. An open-face is the only helmet type that solves it properly, because your face is never enclosed.

🔵 The Y.10's crown ventilation supports that; a two-stage top vent is fitted to some versions.

Interior, glasses and the buckle

Two outer shell sizes do the coarse fitting before the padding is involved: XXS–L in the smaller shell, XL–XXL in the larger. Measure around the widest part of your head, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows.

🔵 Between two sizes most riders take the larger one on this helmet — but try it on and keep it on for ten minutes before deciding.

Intercom — and the 45 mm limit

The Y.10 is prepared for universal communication systems rather than for one brand's, which keeps the choice open and the price down. Audio sets up to 45 mm fit the recesses.

🔵 Nothing is supplied with the helmet — the provision is the feature.

1325 grams, and the rest of the honest list

🔵 Weight matters most at the end of a long day and least in the first ten minutes, which is why it is the specification most often underweighted when buying. At 1325 g this helmet effectively removes the question.

What it does not remove: the absence of a chin bar, and the fact that no clear visor is supplied.

Choosing the right size

🔵 The most common sizing mistake on a jet is buying too large, because an open-face feels less enclosing than a full-face and a loose one still feels comfortable. It is not: a helmet that can be rotated by hand will move in a crash.

Take the smaller of two sizes if the larger moves at all.

When something wears out

Genuine parts matter more on a helmet than on most things, because the retention system and the shield are part of what was certified to ECE 22-06. A pattern part that behaves differently is not the helmet that was approved.
