Plain white is the oldest idea in helmet design and still one of the best: the most visible colour in daylight, the coolest in summer sun, and the one that never looks dated.

A four-star shell in six sizes

The shell is HPFC — LS2's high-performance fibreglass composite. It is the material that earned this helmet four SHARP stars, and it holds the whole thing at 1500 g without asking carbon money for it.

Two independent results — including the criticisms

🟢 SHARP rates the Vector II at 4 stars of 5, tested February 2025 against ECE 22.06 by the UK Department for Transport's programme, which buys helmets anonymously at retail and destroys them.

🔵 The attribution is solid: SHARP records composite fibre, 1.5 kg, which matches this HPFC version and not the Vector II Carbon at 1.4 kg.

Airflow that reaches your head

Ventilation runs through chin and top intakes, across ducted EPS, and out through the rear exhaust. Routing the channels through the liner foam rather than merely under the shell is what gets airflow to your head instead of stalling it.

🔵 Two intake paths is one more than several helmets in this class manage.

About the solid white finish

Beyond the clean look there is a practical argument, and on this helmet it is stronger than usual. The Vector II is unusually compact for its size — six shell sizes mean a small head gets a genuinely small helmet rather than a padded-out large one — and a compact shell is a smaller visual target to begin with. Value is what recovers that: a white object at windscreen height is resolved by a driver at a junction sooner than a dark one, and the margin is largest in the flat overcast light where every dark object collapses into the same grey. There is a heat argument for summer too, since a pale shell reflects solar energy that a dark one converts into liner temperature. 🔵 The cost is upkeep. White shows fly strike and motorway film clearly, and it shows dirt honestly, which on equipment you should be inspecting regularly is arguably a feature rather than a nuisance. At 220 € it is one of the four cheapest four-star helmets on this site. Between this and the matt Alizer white at 237 €, the difference is finish rather than colour: gloss shows the shape of a compact shell through its highlights, matt shows the outline. Both sit at the top of the conspicuity scale and both need washing more often than a dark helmet.

Two visors in the box, a third inside the shell

A wide hardcoated visor with UV protection and a tool-free change system. LS2 includes both the Pinlock® 120 MaxVision™ anti-fog insert and a complete tinted visor, so summer needs no extra purchase.

🔵 A drop-down sun visor is built in as well — one slide brings it down, another stows it fully inside the shell.

Holding on, and letting go

Retention is a micrometric metal buckle on a reinforced strap — set the length once, click thereafter — with an emergency release alongside it.

🔵 Multi-density EPS handles different impact energies, and SHARP's independent testing returned four stars.

The part you actually touch

A washable, removable, hypoallergenic liner with pre-moulded intercom pockets for LS2's Bluetooth system — recesses designed in rather than space found afterwards.

🔵 The close fit is deliberate. It is part of why the helmet performs the way it does, and part of why Certimoov found it awkward to put on.

Where it sits in LS2's range

The Vector II is LS2's composite road full-face and, at 220 € with four SHARP stars and six shell sizes, arguably the best value in the catalogue.

🔵 Within this model the price ladder is entirely paint: four plain finishes at 220 € and nine graphics at 237 €, sharing one shell and one equipment list.

Care and replacement parts

The parts that wear are all replaceable: both visors, the internal sun visor, the Pinlock insert, cheek pads in several thicknesses, the complete lining and the vent covers.

🔵 The multi-density EPS is not among them. It crushes once and does not recover.
