The KASS0VB0 brings that blue mirror coating to the Suomy Stellar 2, over a tint intended for strong sun. Ride with it in daylight only and never at night, at dusk, in tunnels or when visibility drops. Since the Stellar 2 has a sun visor built into the shell, this mirrored shield is something you pick for glaring days and for its look, not a piece of kit you must have.

Key Features

Blue Iridium mirror finish with a sun tint

Rated Optical Visor Class 1 by Suomy

Tear-off preparation inherited from Suomy's racing visors

Scratch-resistant visor, per the supplier

Changes over easily on the Stellar 2

A Cool Blue Finish

From the outside the shield shows a deep blue reflection that works with dark helmets as a contrast and with blue graphics as a match. It also keeps your eyes out of view, which some riders like simply for the calm it gives behind the visor. Blue also tends to read as sporty rather than flashy, a middle ground between understated silver and loud rainbow. If you change helmets or paint schemes later, a blue mirror is easy to combine with most colourways.

Fitting It Yourself

The Stellar 2 visor is designed to be changed easily, so most owners swap it at home in a few minutes. Work on a soft surface, keep the old shield in a cloth bag and check that the new one sits evenly on both sides before your first ride.

When to Use It, and When Not

Bright summer afternoons, open roads, beach rides: yes. The commute home at dusk, an unlit country lane or a tunnel: no, swap to a clear visor first. If the light is changing during the day, remember that the Stellar 2's internal sun visor, worked by a double-pull mechanism from outside the helmet, can handle a lot on its own and folds away instantly.

Racing Details

The shield is ready for tear-offs, the strips racers pull away when the view gets dirty. Suomy also states Optical Class 1, the more demanding grade for distortion.

Check Your Helmet First

It fits the Stellar 2 and not the earlier Stellar. Expect the visor only: the Pinlock 120 MaxVision comes with the helmet, and tear-offs must be bought separately. Requirements for tinted shields vary by country; please confirm them for your own roads.

Specifications

Brand: Suomy

Part number: KASS0VB0

EAN: 8020838383337

Type: Replacement visor

Tint: Iridium Blue (mirrored)

Compatible helmet: Suomy Stellar 2 only

Optical class: 1

Tear-off ready: Yes (tear-offs sold separately)

Intended use: Daylight only: strong sun
