Nothing in this range is consumed, and that quietly changes what a second element is for. A spare paper panel waits to replace something. A second washable element is not a spare at all but a second setting for one airbox: the fine nonwoven in the frame while there is dust about, the woven cloth back in for the rest of the year, each of them blown clean and put on a shelf rather than in a bin when it comes out.

When the pair is worth owning

Only where the riding year genuinely divides. A dry season, harvest traffic on the roads you use daily, a stretch of months behind roadworks, a commute that finishes on gravel: those are conditions with a beginning and an end, and they are the argument for keeping two elements instead of asking one to cover both. Where dust is simply the normal state of the roads, the fine mat stays in and there is nothing to swap. Where it comes to a few kilometres a year, the pair is more handling than the problem is worth. The change itself belongs on a bench beside another job, never at the roadside.

The flow that is given up

Either way the cost of this medium is the same and it is stated plainly: 1,800 l/m²/sec against 5,050 for the weave in the same housing. Fitting it is a decision to pass less air in exchange for stopping more, which is a trade and not a step up a ladder. It certainly is not a power part. A slot-in element cannot make a standard 368K noticeably stronger, and this one is going the other way on purpose. The honest benefit is a finer barrier during the months that need one, together with an intake restriction that returns to its own starting figure every time the element is cleaned rather than drifting upwards unreported.

Care and cleaning

A service is short. Compressed air, applied to the clean face and worked outwards, sends the collected dust back out by its entry route. Deposits that have turned greasy rather than powdery come off with lukewarm water and a little mild detergent; rinse until the run-off is clear. Drying is done in circulating air at room temperature and by no other means — heat of any kind ruins the medium invisibly.
