Track Performance Explained

The secondary air injection system — known as PAIR — draws fresh air from the airbox into the exhaust ports to combust residual unburnt fuel and reduce emissions. On a road-legal machine this serves a purpose, but once you install a full aftermarket exhaust system the PAIR circuit introduces a lean spike on the overrun that manifests as aggressive popping and unpredictable fuelling. On a race circuit, where throttle precision defines lap times, that interference is unacceptable.

The JP ES 028 kit replaces the original cover and rubber cap with a CNC-machined plate that seals the airbox port completely. With the PAIR valve, cover and hoses removed, your ECU remap or power commander tune works against a consistent, uncontaminated airflow. The result is cleaner throttle pick-up, a more predictable fuel map and the elimination of the popping that unsettles the rear end on trailing throttle through fast corners.

Build Quality

JetPrime machines the block-off plate from 7075 aluminium, the same alloy grade used in aerospace and high-stress motorsport components. The plate is precision-cut to replace the OEM cover with a flush, rattle-free fit. Heat-resistant rubber caps seal any remaining ports to ensure nothing works loose during extended track sessions. Every component in the kit is developed and validated specifically for the 2017-2023 GSX-R 1000 platform.
