Shark's price list gives the OXO as its helmet.

Key Features

Chin bar for the OXO small shell

Finish codes KWY and KSR

Supplier line CHIN BAR SMALL SHELL

125.45 EUR, list price 139.39 EUR

Listed weight 170 g

Ordering by part number

Eleven chin bar numbers exist for the small shell alone, so the number matters more than the photo. FX8704P covers KWY and KSR, codes that Shark gives without colour names. Its matt counterpart on the same shell is FX8705P in ABK. The large-shell chin bar with KWY and KSR is FX8714P.

Small shell or large shell

The shell size decides which chin bar fits, and it is on the label under the comfort liner. A small-shell chin bar does not go on a large-shell OXO.

A note on structural repairs

A chin bar is a structural part: it holds the lock that closes the front of the helmet. Replacing it after scuffs or a broken latch is sensible. After an impact on the ground, though, the shell and liner may be damaged in ways a new chin bar does not fix, and the helmet should be replaced.

How it goes on

Because the chin bar carries the lock, fit it with care or have a dealer do it. Shark lists the chin bar screws separately as FX8725P. After fitting, close the chin bar and pull on it: both sides must be locked.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/FX8704P-10650372473098-v2-platzhalter.png?v=1790599558
