How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

The Shark Aeron Dark Shadow KMA is a full-face helmet that brings genuine race-derived engineering to everyday road and track use. Built from a carbon and aramid fibre shell, it delivers the kind of rigidity and lightweight protection that serious riders demand — without the premium price tag of boutique race-only lids. Whether you commute hard or lap circuit days into your calendar, the Aeron earns its place on the peg every single day.
Key Features
- Carbon and aramid fibre shell construction — exceptional strength-to-weight ratio that reduces neck fatigue on long stints
- ECE 22.06 certified — meets the latest and most stringent European road homologation standard
- 4 EPS liner sizes across 2 shell sizes — a precise, aerodynamic fit rather than a one-shell-fits-all compromise
- Anti-fog and scratch-resistant visor with tear-off compatibility — ready for track days straight out of the box
- Visor locking system prevents unintended opening at speed, adding a meaningful layer of confidence on fast roads
- 5 intake vents and 7 exhaust vents drive consistent airflow through the helmet even at motorway speeds
- Emergency quick-release cheek pad system — a feature that matters when it counts most
Shell & Protection
Shark has engineered the Aeron shell from a combination of carbon and aramid fibres, a pairing that keeps the overall weight impressively low while maintaining the structural rigidity needed to meet ECE 22.06. Four EPS foam densities are matched across two shell sizes, meaning the helmet you wear is shaped around your head rather than padded out to fit. The result is a centre of gravity that sits naturally, reducing the pendulum effect that heavy helmets create at speed or under hard braking.
The integrated rear spoiler is not a styling exercise — it actively manages airflow at the back of the helmet, cutting turbulence and keeping the lid stable when you crack the throttle on a long straight.
Visor & Visibility
The anti-fog, scratch-resistant visor is tear-off compatible, which makes the Aeron a genuine dual-purpose helmet: composed for road riding, prepared for circuit use. The compact visor mechanism provides positive, precise operation without adding unnecessary bulk to the chin area, and the locking system holds the visor firmly closed regardless of speed. Clear vision in every condition — from damp morning commutes to fast track sessions under bright skies.
Comfort & Interior
Inside, Shark has packed in a level of refinement that makes the Aeron easy to live with day after day. Morpho-Pads are three-dimensional cushioning inserts that conform individually to your head shape, distributing pressure evenly and eliminating the hot spots that make lesser helmets uncomfortable on longer rides. The full antimicrobial lining is breathable and fully removable for washing — an essential quality for any helmet used regularly. Both the ear pads and cheek pads detach independently, making cleaning straightforward and allowing replacement when worn.
Glasses wearers will appreciate the dedicated spectacle-friendly channel cut into the cheek pad area — a small detail that makes a significant difference when you are suiting up in a hurry. The Double-D ring retention system is the same closure standard trusted in professional racing, and the emergency quick-release mechanism allows cheek pads to be removed rapidly should first responders need access.
Design
The Dark Shadow KMA colourway pairs a matte black finish with the natural, understated texture of the carbon and aramid weave beneath. There is no graphic excess here — the look is purposeful and restrained, the kind of helmet that reads as serious equipment rather than a fashion piece. It suits naked bikes and sports tourers as naturally as it does full-fairing track machinery. Part of the 2024–2025 Shark collection.
