Construction and Materials

SC-Project's commitment to material quality is immediately apparent when you pick up the SC1-R. The silencer body is constructed from high-grade carbon fibre, keeping mass to an absolute minimum while retaining structural rigidity under sustained high-rpm running. The hydroformed carbon end-cap — a process borrowed from aerospace manufacturing — produces a compound-curved surface that channels exhaust gases efficiently and resists heat fatigue far longer than conventional pressed steel or aluminium alternatives.

Titanium is used throughout the connecting hardware and pipe fittings. CNC machining ensures each bushing meets tight dimensional tolerances, eliminating the fitment slop that can cause vibration and premature wear. The titanium construction also reduces heat transfer to surrounding bodywork, keeping the chassis area clean and the rider's leg away from excessive radiated warmth during track sessions.

Performance and Sound

Optimised internal geometry improves exhaust scavenging across the rev range, translating directly into sharper throttle response and improved torque delivery out of slow corners — exactly where lap times are won on the ZX-10 R. The SC1-R produces a purposeful, deep racing exhaust note shaped by SC-Project's specialist acoustic engineering.

Sound levels measured at 7,000 rpm:

  • With dB killer fitted: 106 dB — strong, characterful and broadly suitable for track-day noise limits
  • Without dB killer: 113 dB — full, uncompromised racing sound

This system is developed exclusively for racing use and is not homologated for road use.
