Construction and Materials

SC-Project's material choices on the S1 are deliberate and uncompromising. The main body is spun and formed from aerospace-grade titanium, chosen for its extraordinary strength-to-weight ratio and natural heat resistance. Unlike stainless steel alternatives, titanium develops a distinctive heat-patina over time, giving each silencer a character that is entirely its own.

The carbon fibre end cap is not merely decorative. It incorporates a specialist sound-dampening layer that manages both thermal output and noise characteristics, allowing the silencer to run closer to the engine without risk to surrounding components. All titanium joints are T.I.G.-welded by hand to a standard that leaves weld seams as a design feature rather than a flaw, and the CNC-machined bushings ensure the unit locates precisely on the original mounting points without any shimming or adaptation.

Performance

The S1's internal geometry is developed from SC-Project's WSBK data. On the Kawasaki ZX-10 R/RR the unit delivers a measured gain of +1.4 hp at 10,000 rpm and +1.1 Nm of torque at 10,500 rpm, improving both throttle response and top-end drive. The titanium link pipe — included in the system — optimises exhaust gas flow across the rev range rather than concentrating gains at a single point, which translates into a broader, more usable spread of performance on road and track alike.

The 1.0 kg weight reduction lowers the centre of mass and reduces unsprung rotational inertia, making the ZX-10 R/RR feel noticeably more responsive in direction changes. Combined with the power gains, the real-world effect on a fast road or a track day is immediately apparent.

With the db-killer in place the S1 produces a deep, composed tone that is sporting without being intrusive — compliant with EURO 4 regulations and entirely suitable for daily road use.
