Forged Construction and Finish

The Piega R's forged aluminium construction is what sets it apart from the wider OZ wheel range. Forging aligns the grain structure of the alloy, producing a wheel that is stiffer and more resistant to fatigue than a cast equivalent at equivalent or lower weight. The result on track is a wheel that holds its line under hard braking, resists flex through fast corners and maintains consistent tyre contact with the surface.

The anodised finish — available in Techno Black or Techno Gold — is applied directly to the aluminium, not painted over it. Anodising penetrates the surface rather than sitting on top, meaning the colour is genuinely durable and resistant to the heat, fuel splash and abrasion that a track environment demands.

Track-Only Engineering

The Piega R is developed specifically for circuit use and is not homologated for road registration. This single-minded focus allows OZ to optimise every aspect of the design — spoke geometry, hub interface, spoke cross-section — for outright performance rather than legislative compromise. Riders who take their S1000RR to track days or compete in circuit championships will notice the difference immediately in how the bike responds to inputs.

Fitment and Compatibility

This wheel set is designed specifically for the BMW S1000RR K46 equipped with HP forged wheel hubs, covering model years 2009 to 2018. The set is a direct replacement for the original HP wheels on those machines. Because the OZ Piega R uses its own sprocket carrier geometry, the original BMW sprocket carrier cannot be reused — a compatible carrier is supplied as part of this set. Installation should be carried out by a qualified mechanic familiar with wheel bearing and sprocket carrier fitment.
