Forged from high-grade aluminium in a purposeful five-spoke architecture, it meets the exacting safety and structural demands of both road homologation and circuit use, while the reduced rotating mass transforms the R1's already sharp handling into something noticeably more responsive at speed.

Riders who use their YZF-R1 or R1M across both road and circuit will find the Piega particularly well suited to that dual-purpose brief. The weight reduction over the stock wheel reduces unsprung and rotating mass simultaneously, which means the suspension can react more accurately to surface irregularities on the road while the chassis pivots more crisply through circuit corners. The sprocket carrier included in the delivery allows fitment of a replacement rear sprocket sized to your preferred gearing ratio.
