Öhlins machines its pistons rather than sintering them, which is why the port edges stay sharp.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 00603-01

What It Is

This position is identified by its number rather than by a dimension. Valves hold pressure in one direction and open in the other. Needle geometry sets the shape of the adjustable range, not just its size. Port area sets how much oil can pass before the shims begin to lift.

Genuine Service Part

Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.

Identifying the Right Part

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 00603-01. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. A worn piston band lets oil past the outside of the piston, which shows up as damping that has gone soft. Port area sets how much oil can pass before the shims begin to lift.

Fitting and Setup Service

We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00603-01

Category: Valves

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00603-01_273edf5d-77ab-4a7f-917c-73ba2e8a1e65.png?v=1788872463
