Öhlins builds the seat into the housing so the sealing face is machined, not pressed. The seat face has to be flat enough for the first shim to seal against it. Öhlins uses a piston band rather than metal-to-metal contact, which is what keeps the bore intact.

Why the Original

Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 00671-04 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Replacing a piston is a workshop job because the shim stack has to be rebuilt in the correct order. Jets meter fixed bleed flow and are sized in tenths of a millimetre.

Fitting and Setup Service

Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00671-04

Category: Valves

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00671-04_f2451300-0c8a-457c-a342-f6eb828ddd67.png?v=1788872709
