A worn piston band lets oil past the outside of the piston, which shows up as damping that has gone soft. A scored piston face means oil bypasses the shims entirely. Jets meter fixed bleed flow and are sized in tenths of a millimetre.

Why the Original

Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.

Identifying the Right Part

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 00191-74 in this case. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Valves hold pressure in one direction and open in the other. Valves and needles set the adjustable part of the damping; the piston sets the rest.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00191-74

Category: Valves

Finish: Black

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00191-74_2cd7abfd-9f4b-4d3b-98f0-5567ef6772c6.png?v=1788868967
https://inter-pace.com/products/ohlins-sticker-ohlins-ttx-flow-dual-valve-black-transparent-72-x-50-00191-74
