A settled spring lowers the machine and steepens the steering without anyone changing a setting. Rates are offered in steps so a change can be made in one direction at a time. Öhlins publishes sag targets, and those are the reference for choosing a rate.

Why the Original

Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.

Getting the Number Right

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 25618-25 in this case. Öhlins states dimension a 65 mm, dimension b 98 mm, dimension c 105 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Öhlins winds, heat-sets and measures each spring, so the rate on the label is the rate fitted. Free length and inner diameter decide whether a spring fits; the rate decides whether it suits.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 25618-25

Category: Springs

Dimension A: 65 mm

Dimension B: 98 mm

Dimension C: 105 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/25618-25_eddfa179-e120-456f-acf1-3696387136d0.png?v=1788878515
