Öhlins measures each spring after setting rather than relying on the winding specification.

Key Features

Öhlins part number 05964-01

Original Öhlins service part

Where It Sits

Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. Rate is chosen for rider weight and load, not for the machine alone. A settled spring lowers the machine and steepens the steering without anyone changing a setting. Free length and inner diameter decide fit; the rate decides behaviour.

Original Öhlins Part

The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order.

Getting the Number Right

Part number 05964-01 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Springs are a service part: they age, they settle, and replacing them restores the geometry. Springs are the cheapest suspension part and the one that decides the most.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 05964-01

Category: Springs

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/05964-01_de5b1623-4f50-4636-b4fa-5221780824b1.png?v=1788877235
