A spring that has settled in service sits shorter than new and quietly lowers the ride height.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 01653-12

Where It Sits

Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. Öhlins publishes sag targets, and those are the reference for choosing a rate. Springs are a service part: they age, they settle, and replacing them restores the geometry. Free length and inner diameter decide whether a spring fits; the rate decides whether it suits.

Genuine Service Part

Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue.

Identifying the Right Part

01653-12 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Öhlins publishes sag targets, and those are the reference for choosing a rate. Öhlins measures each spring after setting rather than relying on the winding specification.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01653-12

Category: Springs

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01653-12_eff3365c-5294-4e1d-94d5-e26c36feeccc.png?v=1788871347
