Substituting a spacer changes the internal geometry, not just the fit.

Key Features

Dimension C 3 mm

Dimension B 38 mm

Original Öhlins service part

Dimension A 16 mm

Öhlins part number 01268-03

Function

01268-03 is the 16 mm, 38 mm, 3 mm version — Öhlins lists each size separately. Öhlins publishes them in the exploded view so a workshop can order the whole position at once. Spacers are machined rather than cut, so the ends are square and the load is even. Circlips hold axial position under load; a sprung one lets the assembly walk.

Genuine Service Part

Rebuilding to specification only works if the parts are to specification — that starts here. Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise.

Identifying the Right Part

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 01268-03 in this case. The published dimensions are dimension a 16 mm, dimension b 38 mm, dimension c 3 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Small parts are cheap until one of them is missing on a Friday afternoon. Öhlins gives each length its own number because the assembly depends on it.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01268-03

Category: Spacers

Dimension A: 16 mm

Dimension B: 38 mm

Dimension C: 3 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01268-03_4be12913-757b-4889-a073-d73b2dd93721.png?v=1788873518
