Measure the old part against them before ordering. Play at the bushing shows up as a knock over sharp bumps. A worn bushing lets the shaft move off centre, and the seal is the next thing to fail. Both diameters and the length are specification, not approximation.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier. The exploded drawing for your unit names the number; if you do not have it, we do.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 24638-08 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. Check inner diameter 48.5 mm, outer diameter 53 mm, length 46 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Öhlins uses PTFE-coated bushings for a low breakaway force. A worn guide shows up as a knock over sharp edges.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 24638-08

Category: Guides

Inner Diameter: 48.5 mm

Outer Diameter: 53 mm

Length: 46 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/24638-08_c119947b-dba7-40d5-b0e0-0a394ed2239d.png?v=1788880846
