Öhlins offers shafts in several lengths per diameter because the stroke differs by model.

Key Features

Length 175.5 mm

Original Öhlins service part

Diameter 14 mm

Öhlins part number 21846-02

Function

Öhlins gives it as 14 mm, 175.5 mm; nothing about that is approximate. The polished section runs in the seal; a mark there ends the seal's life. A shaft is threaded at both ends: one for the piston, one for the mounting. Adjuster shafts run inside the main shaft on units with a rod-through adjuster.

Why the Original

Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise.

How to Be Sure It Fits

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 21846-02. Öhlins states diameter 14 mm, length 175.5 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Shafts are not shortened or extended; the length is the specification. Öhlins hardens and surface-treats its shafts because a scratch on the running surface takes the seal with it.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21846-02

Category: Damper Shafts

Diameter: 14 mm

Length: 175.5 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21846-02_525b1dcc-b74a-4b71-834e-6c33dc45486b.png?v=1788880324
