A fork tube that has been bent is scrap: straightening changes the wall and it bends again. Axle clamps and lower legs are machined to hold the axle without distorting the fork. Fork tubes are the structural part of the front end and carry the braking load into the yokes.

Why the Original

The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.

How to Be Sure It Fits

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 04760-12 in this case. The published dimensions are dimension a 50 mm, dimension b 54 mm, dimension c 491 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Bushings in the fork carry the side load; play there shows up as knocking under braking. Cartridge tubes sit inside the fork leg and do the actual damping.

Fitting and Setup Service

Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 04760-12

Category: Outer Tubes

Dimension A: 50 mm

Dimension B: 54 mm

Dimension C: 491 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/04760-12_c4844b0b-7c13-4cc3-90b0-c486e39d817d.png?v=1788873140
