Inner tubes carry a low-friction coating; once it is through, the seals wear quickly. The outer tube holds the bushings and the seal head, so its bore finish matters as much as the inner tube's outside. A fork tube that has been bent is scrap: straightening changes the wall and it bends again.

Why the Original

Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it.

Identifying the Right Part

21668-04 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. dimension a 48 mm, dimension b 55 mm, dimension c 62 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Outer tubes are specific to the fork model and its travel. Fork parts are specific to the fork, not to the motorcycle it happens to be fitted to.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21668-04

Category: Outer Tubes

Dimension A: 48 mm

Dimension B: 55 mm

Dimension C: 62 mm

Finish: Black

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21668-04_c6396cf3-2764-47a8-8577-2c8d4a03b4ee.png?v=1788877646
