Reservoir caps carry the gas valve and are torqued to a specification.

Key Features

Öhlins part number 00230-04

Original Öhlins service part

What It Is

This position is identified by its number rather than by a dimension. The reservoir holds the gas charge and the oil volume the damper displaces as the shaft enters it. Hose length is specific to the installation and cannot be substituted freely. The separating piston or bladder inside keeps gas and oil apart; if it fails, the damping goes with it.

Genuine Service Part

The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it.

Getting the Number Right

00230-04 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Hose-mounted reservoirs allow installation where a piggyback would foul the chassis. The reservoir holds the gas charge and the oil volume the damper displaces as the shaft enters it.

Fitting and Setup Service

We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00230-04

Category: Reservoirs

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00230-04_10fae4c5-32e4-495d-9c5c-b2e6f52c7564.png?v=1788869027
