Compression and rebound adjusters are not interchangeable even when they look similar.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 05387-01

Function

This position is identified by its number rather than by a dimension. The adjuster knob is what the rider touches, and Öhlins colour-codes it by function. Preload adjusters carry the full spring force and are built accordingly. Electronically controlled adjusters replace the needle with a solenoid but keep the same hydraulics.

Genuine Service Part

Suspension is one of the few areas where the original part is genuinely the cheaper decision. The part number is the contract: it defines material, dimension and finish together. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue.

Getting the Number Right

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 05387-01. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Hydraulic preload adjusters are sealed units and are replaced rather than opened. Öhlins publishes the click count for each unit, and a rebuilt adjuster should return it.

For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 05387-01

Category: Adjusters

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/05387-01_138f51e2-92f6-4a79-824b-f3d01a9e1d88.png?v=1788874059
