A soft reservoir usually means the bladder has failed rather than the gas has leaked. Hose length is part of the installation and cannot be changed freely. The separating piston or bladder inside keeps gas and oil apart; if it fails, the damping goes with it.

Why the Original

Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up.

Identifying the Right Part

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 01042-06 in this case. Check dimension a 1 mm, dimension b 8 mm, dimension c 520 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. The reservoir takes the oil the shaft displaces as it enters the damper. Reservoir caps carry the gas valve and are torqued to a specification.

Fitting and Setup Service

We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01042-06

Category: Hoses

Dimension A: 1 mm

Dimension B: 8 mm

Dimension C: 520 mm

Thread: M10x1

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01042-06_5b997d45-e0e6-400f-8080-a0bf2742b512.png?v=1788872998
