Supersport chassis are stiff and short, which leaves the suspension doing almost all the compliance work.

Where This Sits in the Öhlins Line-up

Öhlins winds, sets and then individually measures every spring before it is boxed. Öhlins fork springs are wound, set and then individually measured; the rate on the label is the rate you get. Fitting the correct rate changes ride height, static sag and how much travel is usable.

How Öhlins Builds It

Öhlins manufactures in Upplands Väsby, north of Stockholm, and assembles and tests every unit there before it ships. Production has stayed in Sweden since the company was founded in 1976. Öhlins machines its own critical components instead of buying them in, and the tolerances are where the money goes.

Rate and Ride Height

Spring rate is 9.5 as delivered, which sets static sag for a rider of typical weight. Damping was developed with 01309 in the unit. Installed length comes to 220 mm. Rate is fixed by the spring, so the setup work is preload and oil level rather than clicks. With the correct rate fitted, the standard damping finally has a fair chance of working as intended.

Fitment and Compatibility

Part number 08432-95 and the Yamaha YZF R6 (2017–2023) belong together; other model years take other numbers. Öhlins lists no other machine against this number, so it is not a unit that can be adapted to a neighbouring model.

Road Approval

Road approval: Öhlins publishes no approval status for this combination. Rather than guess, we say so — ask us before ordering if road use matters to you.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins components deliver what they promise once they are fitted and set up properly. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do exactly that in house — installation, service and setup. Simply ask if you would like us to take care of it.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 08432-95

Fitment: Yamaha YZF R6 (2017–2023)

Road Approval: Not documented by Öhlins

Length: 220 mm

Spring Rate: 9.5

Recommended Öhlins Oil: 01309

Product Line: Fork springs

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/a_img-00000211_8b191df6-0595-40c0-be97-cb11f8d091ce.png?v=1789561546
