A marked inner tube destroys seals repeatedly until it is replaced.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 04742-23

Function

There is no measurement to check here — the number and the exploded view identify it. It houses the compression assembly on most Öhlins cartridge forks. Left and right are different parts on almost every fork. Axle clamps and lower legs are machined to hold the axle without distorting the fork.

Why the Original

Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order.

How to Be Sure It Fits

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 04742-23. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Left and right are different parts on almost every fork. A fork tube that has been bent is scrap: straightening changes the wall and it bends again.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 04742-23

Category: Fork Bottoms

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/04742-23_0bcf688a-a954-4d01-926e-bd29990760d4.png?v=1788875442
