Cartridge tubes sit inside the fork leg and do the actual damping.

Key Features

Öhlins part number 21664-02

Original Öhlins service part

Where It Sits

This position is identified by its number rather than by a dimension. A fork tube that has been bent is scrap: straightening changes the wall and it bends again. Axle clamps are machined so the axle clamps without pinching the fork out of alignment. Outer tubes hold the bushings and the seal head, so their bore finish matters as much as the inner tube's outside.

Why the Original

An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise.

Identifying the Right Part

Order under 21664-02. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Bushings in the fork carry the side load; play there shows up as knocking under braking. Left and right are different parts on almost every fork.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21664-02

Category: Fork Bottoms

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21664-02_b4a53727-e9db-45f5-ae06-3396b3bbac8f.png?v=1788879977
