Housings carry bores for adjusters and seals; their concentricity decides whether the unit seals.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 21665-18

What It Is

This position is identified by its number rather than by a dimension. Öhlins machines housings from solid billet rather than casting them. Adaptor pieces let one damper body serve several mounting geometries. Reservoir housings hold the gas charge and are pressure-rated accordingly.

Why the Original

Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. If the unit is already apart, compare the published dimensions with the part in your hand. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask.

Getting the Number Right

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 21665-18 in this case. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Öhlins machines housings from solid billet rather than casting them. Adaptor pieces let one damper body serve several mounting geometries.

Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21665-18

Category: Fender Brackets

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21665-18_a49eb011-39f6-47eb-b8ac-93608554d452.png?v=1788877631
