The eye takes the entire load path from wheel to chassis. Öhlins machines the eye from the same billet as the body on many units. End caps seal the unit and carry the adjusters; they are matched to the tube they close.

Why the Original

Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue.

Getting the Number Right

Part number 01297-28 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. The published dimensions are dimension a 16 mm, dimension b 122 mm, dimension c 35 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. A worn eye bearing is often mistaken for tired damping. The spherical bearing in an end eye lets the damper follow the linkage without side load.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01297-28

Category: End Eyes

Dimension A: 16 mm

Dimension B: 122 mm

Dimension C: 35 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01297-28_56dfbce2-8913-42c3-b9d2-3cd24e88ddbe.png?v=1788873593
