A worn eye bearing is often mistaken for tired damping. The end eye carries the entire load of the damper into the chassis, which is why it is machined rather than cast. End caps carry adjusters, seals and often the gas valve.

Original Öhlins Part

An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not.

Identifying the Right Part

Order under 00325-04. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Öhlins states dimension a 12 mm, dimension b 29.5 mm, dimension c 22 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. The end eye carries the entire load of the damper into the chassis, which is why it is machined rather than cast.
