A worn end eye bearing is a common source of rear-end vagueness that gets blamed on damping.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 05903-01

What It Is

There is no measurement to check here — the number and the exploded view identify it. The end eye carries the entire load of the damper into the chassis, which is why it is machined rather than cast. Spherical bearings in the eye let the damper move without binding as the linkage arcs. The spherical bearing in an end eye lets the damper follow the linkage without side load.

Why the Original

Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute.

How to Be Sure It Fits

05903-01 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Thread pitch is specific to the tube — caps are not interchangeable between units. End caps carry adjusters, seals and often the gas valve.

Fitting and Setup Service

We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so you do not have to source the tools and the nitrogen: send us the damper and we rebuild it with the correct parts and the correct setting.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 05903-01

Category: End Caps

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/05903-01_afc57118-3355-47a6-abc8-f3246fd79a52.png?v=1788874639
