A scored bore means lost damping, because the oil bypasses the piston rather than being forced through the shims.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 04620-13

Diameter 51 mm

Length 253 mm

What It Is

This one measures 51 mm, 253 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. Length here is the working length, not the overall dimension, which is why two similar tubes are not interchangeable. The cylinder tube is the working bore of the damper: the piston runs in it, and its finish decides how well the piston rings seal. Bore finish decides how well the piston band seals; a scored tube leaks damping past the piston.

Why the Original

This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Öhlins numbers every position so a workshop can order precisely what it needs, not a whole assembly. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise.

How to Be Sure It Fits

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 04620-13. Öhlins states diameter 51 mm, length 253 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Twin-tube dampers use two concentric tubes, and both are listed separately. Wall thickness and bore finish are what let a cylinder hold pressure without deforming under load.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 04620-13

Category: Cylinder Tubes

Diameter: 51 mm

Length: 253 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/04620-13_758ce468-d52f-4369-b098-62813523d4e5.png?v=1788872701
