Corrosion inside a tube is terminal: it cannot be honed out without changing the clearance.

Key Features

Length 275 mm

Original Öhlins service part

Diameter 25 mm

Öhlins part number 04772-04

Where It Sits

Dimensionally this is 25 mm, 275 mm, which is how it is told apart from the rest of the range. Twin-tube dampers use two concentric tubes, and both are listed separately. Öhlins matches tube and piston as a pair during assembly, which is why the part numbers are specific. Aluminium tubes are hard-anodised in the bore so the piston band has a hard surface to run against.

Why the Original

Suspension is one of the few areas where the original part is genuinely the cheaper decision. Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 04772-04 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. Öhlins states diameter 25 mm, length 275 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Length here is the working length, not the overall dimension, which is why two similar tubes are not interchangeable. The cylinder is one of the few damper parts that is genuinely wear-limited.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 04772-04

Category: Cylinder Tubes

Diameter: 25 mm

Length: 275 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/04772-04_3d44db2a-32a6-4361-8afb-845816974104.png?v=1788875978
