A cracked bracket is a safety matter, not a cosmetic one. A housing carries adjusters and their seals, so its bores matter as much as its outside. Brackets locate the unit against the chassis and take load in one direction only.

Genuine Service Part

A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.

Identifying the Right Part

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 02232-04 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Öhlins anodises housings for corrosion resistance rather than for looks. A cracked bracket is a safety matter rather than a cosmetic one.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 02232-04

Category: Brackets

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/02232-04_63355c93-5652-4692-aa1a-fdfd6d844a30.png?v=1788874128
