Mounting hardware is model-specific even where the damper body is common. Öhlins machines its housings from solid rather than casting them, which keeps the bores true. Reservoir housings hold the gas charge and are pressure-rated accordingly.

Why the Original

Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. Suspension is one of the few areas where the original part is genuinely the cheaper decision. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation.

Getting the Number Right

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 01165-17. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Adaptor pieces let one damper body serve several mounting geometries. Öhlins anodises housings for corrosion resistance rather than for looks.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01165-17

Category: Brackets

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01165-17_c4e494d5-8602-448a-94ea-30f3c6ad1722.png?v=1788870804
