Öhlins specifies seal compounds for temperature stability rather than for the lowest unit cost. Öhlins recommends replacing seals whenever the unit is opened, not only when it leaks. An oil seal that has hardened lets the shaft pass oil past it, and the damping fades long before the leak becomes visible.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. Rebuilding to specification only works if the parts are to specification — that starts here. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute. The exploded drawing for your unit names the number; if you do not have it, we do.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Part number 01032-28 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. Where no measurement is given, the drawing position is what identifies the part. The dust seal does the hard work: it keeps the grit that would score the shaft away from the oil seal. Öhlins recommends replacing seals whenever the unit is opened, not only when it leaks.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01032-28

Category: Back-up Rings

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01032-28_f9792a30-eeab-406e-adae-7b00b0725d49.png?v=1788872973
