Hydraulic preload adjusters are sealed and pressurised; they are replaced as a unit.

Key Features

Öhlins part number 04748-23

Original Öhlins service part

What It Is

Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. The adjuster knob is what the rider touches, and Öhlins colour-codes it by function. Click adjusters work through a needle in a seat; the detent spring gives the clicks their feel. Öhlins specifies a defined number of clicks per adjuster so a setting is a number, not an impression.

Original Öhlins Part

This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it.

Identifying the Right Part

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 04748-23 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Öhlins publishes the click count for each unit, and a rebuilt adjuster should return it. An adjuster that turns without resistance has lost its detent; the setting is then guesswork.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 04748-23

Category: Adjusters

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/04748-23_2622b8e8-85e5-4c6a-9902-55bb2b18a3d4.png?v=1788875529
