Adjuster housings carry seals, and a leak there empties the damper as surely as a shaft seal. The adjuster knob is what the rider touches, and Öhlins colour-codes it by function. Needle and seat together meter the bleed flow; damage to either changes the whole adjustment range.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. The part number is the contract: it defines material, dimension and finish together. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it.

How to Be Sure It Fits

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 04771-20. Where no measurement is given, the drawing position is what identifies the part. Hydraulic preload adjusters are sealed units and are replaced rather than opened. An adjuster that turns without resistance has lost its detent; the setting is then guesswork.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 04771-20

Category: Adjustment Rods

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/04771-20_dd038a26-561a-44d3-9f98-f9a2e5c505fc.png?v=1788873453
