Adjuster housings carry seals, and a leak there empties the damper as surely as a shaft seal.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 21052-02

Where It Sits

This position is identified by its number rather than by a dimension. Preload adjusters carry the full spring force and are built accordingly. The adjuster knob is what the rider touches, and Öhlins colour-codes it by function. Electronically controlled adjusters replace the needle with a solenoid but keep the same hydraulics.

Original Öhlins Part

The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up.

Identifying the Right Part

Part number 21052-02 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Hydraulic preload adjusters are sealed units and are replaced rather than opened. Detent balls and springs are separate parts because they wear before the housing does.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21052-02

Category: Adjusters

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21052-02_736ce748-7087-4ef3-b3ad-42b4d1dc5bf8.png?v=1788877016
