It hides fine scratches and does not show swirl marks, which suits a helmet that gets packed into top boxes and hung on mirrors. ECE 22.06, mandatory in the EU since January 2024, introduced oblique impacts against an abrasive anvil, more test points and speeds, and checks with accessories fitted.
