How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears. At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head.
Make sure the tape sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result, then compare the value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat
- Keep the tape horizontal, along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes: usually choose the larger size
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without uncomfortable pressure points. A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

The MT Street S is one of MT Helmets' true catalogue classics — an urban open-face (jet) helmet that has been a best-seller since 2016 and just keeps selling. It's a simple, honest, affordable lid built for city and scooter riders on small-displacement bikes, with an unbeatable price-to-quality balance. Finished in a classic gloss black, it does exactly what an everyday urban helmet should — no more, no less.
Key Features
- ECE 22.06 and DOT certified — passed with all included accessories
- HIRP (High Impact Resistant Polymer) shell, light at approx. 1.025 kg
- Long MT-V-15B visor for real weather coverage — clear included (smoked/dark optional)
- MT-Micrometric+ closure with a minimum two-tooth anchorage
- Simple, robust, everyday urban design
- Outstanding price-to-quality ratio
Shell and Safety
The Street S is built on an HIRP (High Impact Resistant Polymer) shell — light at around 1.025 kg but tuned for effective impact absorption. It is homologated to ECE 22.06 and approved to DOT, so this is a properly certified helmet to the latest European standard, not a novelty. The MT-Micrometric+ buckle guarantees a minimum two-tooth anchorage for a quick, secure, glove-friendly fastening.
The Long MT-V-15B Visor
The Street S comes with the MT-V-15B visor — a long screen made from highly impact-resistant, optically precise polycarbonate with an anti-scratch coating and a quick, tool-free mounting system. Because it's a long visor it drops well down the face for genuine wind and weather protection, more than a short-cut jet screen. The clear visor is included; a smoked and a dark MT-V-15B are available separately.
An Honest Word on What This Helmet Is
The Street S is an entry-level open-face, and it's honest about its brief. To hit its price it keeps things simple: there is no drop-down sun visor, no removable interior and no intercom pre-installation. It also, being an open-face, does not cover the chin like a full-face and is airier and noisier at higher speeds. What you get in return is a genuinely light, properly ECE 22.06-certified urban helmet with a full-length visor at a very accessible price — ideal for scooters, mopeds, learners and short city commutes.
The MT-Micrometric+ Buckle
The Street S fastens with MT's MT-Micrometric+ micrometric buckle — set the strap to your neck once, then click it open and shut with one gloved hand at every stop. There's no re-threading like a double-D ring, and the minimum two-tooth anchorage keeps the strap locked. On a helmet you take on and off constantly around town, that convenience is exactly what you want.
Care and Everyday Practicality
Wipe the shell and visor with a soft, damp cloth and a helmet-safe cleaner — never solvents, which can craze polycarbonate. Because the visor mounts tool-free, swapping a scratched screen (or fitting the optional smoked one) takes seconds. Replace a scratched visor promptly, as a compromised screen is both a visibility and a safety issue.
Design and Colour — The Pure A1 gloss black finish
Pure A1 in gloss is the everyday solid — a clean, reflective black that keeps the Street S looking smart and understated on any bike or scooter. Simple, timeless and impossible to get wrong.
An all-over gloss black: the go-with-everything default. It suits the Street S's no-nonsense urban brief and takes a quick wipe to stay sharp. The obvious first choice for riders who just want a clean, affordable lid.
Finding Your Size
The Street S is available in XS–XXL. Measure your head circumference with a soft tape about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, around the widest part of the skull, and compare it with the size chart linked on this page. Between two sizes, choose the larger for everyday comfort.
Approved Use
