The ISS200RT is LighTech's GC-Tech brake guard for the R9, Made in Italy, 39.6 g. 7 colour options are available, none of which affect fitment on the R9. On a 890 cc machine like the R9 it is the least expensive insurance available.

Key Features

Colour changes the look of the R9, not the fit

Made in Italy

Supplied with the instructions the R9 fitting needs

LighTech part number ISS200RT, catalogued for the Yamaha R9

LighTech logo and the Italian tricolour on the end section

The polymer absorbs rather than transmits, unlike a rigid guard

Fitment and Compatibility

LighTech lists the ISS200RT for the Yamaha R9. Check clearance to the R9 fairing and mirror once fitted.

In the Workshop

Fitting the ISS200RT to an R9 is a bar-end job with hand tools. Re-check the fasteners after the first ride, as with anything at the bar end. If the R9 runs aftermarket bars, confirm the bore before ordering.

What the Guard Prevents

What makes contact dangerous on an R9 is not the contact itself. When another machine touches the lever of an R9, the lever moves and the front wheel locks. At 39.6 g the ISS200RT adds less to the R9 than the bar-end weight it replaces.

Choosing the Adapter

There is a second part number involved in fitting the ISS200RT. Every motorcycle takes the adapter matched to its own handlebar bore, and the R9 is no exception. Leave the “Adapter” option on “With Adapter KPL311” — that is the adapter for the R9, ordered in the same step. If KPL311 is already in the bar of your R9, “Without Adapter” saves buying it twice.

What You Get

LighTech sells the ISS200RT individually, not as a left-and-right set. The bar adapter is packed with the ISS200RT whenever a “With Adapter” value is ordered. LighTech keeps the ISS200RT in its spare-parts programme rather than treating it as disposable.

Approval and Track Rules

On track the brake lever guard is usually not optional. We list the ISS200RT without an approval claim because LighTech issues none. Check your own series regulations for the exact requirement; they differ.

Specifications

Brand: LighTech

Part number: ISS200RT

Type: GC-Tech brake lever guard

Material: Technical polymer, carbon and graphite filled

Guard weight: 39.6 g

Guard length: 132 mm

Origin: Made in Italy

Bush colours: 7 — Black, Blue, Gold, Green, Grey, Orange, Red

Weight: 110 g

Supplied as: Single item

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/v_ISS200RTNER_742c1431-095e-488a-bf0e-e2e9cdd35647.png?v=1791966532
https://inter-pace.com/products/lightech-gc-tech-brake-lever-guard-132-mm-yamaha-r9-2025-2026-iss200rt
