Enter the OBT007: a 16 cm³ billet reservoir at 106 g, built to replace the original box. The shell comes in 8 anodised colours. Nothing on the MT-09 SP is cut or drilled to fit it.

Key Features

The OBT007 is machined from solid, not cast or pressed

Replaces the original plastic reservoir of the MT-09 SP

Billet aluminium outer shell, machined from solid

Fitting the OBT007 to the MT-09 SP needs hand tools only

106 g in place of the original box

LighTech part number OBT007, listed for the Yamaha MT-09 SP

Application

This listing covers the Yamaha MT-09 SP, 2021 to 2026. LighTech builds this reservoir as a universal part — it is not machined to the MT-09 SP specifically, and the fit depends on where you mount it.

The Case for Billet

A fluid reservoir does two things, and the factory part does only one of them. Billet outside for strength and finish, plastic inside for visibility — that is the whole idea of the OBT007. Anodised rather than painted, so washing the MT-09 SP does not dull it.

In the Workshop

The OBT007 replaces an existing part on the MT-09 SP rather than adding one. Brake fluid strips paint — cover the MT-09 SP tank and fairing before you open anything. The original part goes back on the MT-09 SP any time.

Looking After It

Brake fluid attacks paint and anodising alike, so wipe spills off the MT-09 SP immediately. Otherwise it is a fit-and-forget item on the MT-09 SP.

In the Package

LighTech ships the OBT007 complete except for the mount. The part number is all you need to quote for a repeat order on the MT-09 SP.

Sold Separately

The OBT007 is supplied without a bracket. Mounting hardware is a separate line: OBT008 forward, OBT009 rearward, OBT003 as the general support. Ask us before ordering and we will match the bracket to your MT-09 SP.

Approval Status

This part sits in the brake or clutch hydraulic circuit, which makes it more than a styling item. The OBT007 carries no approval mark. Road use on the MT-09 SP means two steps: clarify it beforehand, test it afterwards.

Technical Data

Brand: LighTech

Part number: OBT007

Type: Brake/clutch fluid reservoir

Capacity: 16 cm³

Shell: Billet aluminium, anodised

Liner: Translucent plastic

Seal: Rubber gasket under the cap

Bracket: Not included — OBT003 / OBT008 / OBT009

Colours: 8 — Black, Blue, Gold, Green, Grey, Orange, Red, Silver

Weight: 106 g

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/v_OBT007NER_b6533747-f95e-4496-94d9-07752b2e053f.png?v=1791206368
