That is what the OBT007 does — 16 cm³ of fluid behind billet aluminium, 106 g on the bike. Colour is the only variable: 8 options, identical in every other respect. It is among the least expensive visible changes you can make to an RSV4.

Key Features

Laser-engraved LighTech logo on the shell

Anodised rather than painted, so a wash does not dull it

LighTech part number OBT007, listed for the Aprilia RSV4

Translucent plastic liner, so the fluid level on the RSV4 stays readable

Finish changes the look of the RSV4, not the fit

Replaces the original plastic reservoir of the RSV4

Looking After It

Brake fluid attacks paint and anodising alike, so wipe spills off the RSV4 immediately. Beyond that the OBT007 asks nothing of you.

What a Visible Reservoir Buys You

Brake fluid absorbs water, which is why the level and the colour are worth seeing. The OBT007 comes with a rubber gasket under the cap, which is what keeps fluid where it belongs. The bracket is a separate LighTech article and is only made in black.

Fitment

Fitment is the RSV4 across 2009 to 2026. The reservoir itself is universal. What makes it fit the RSV4 is the bracket and the hose, not the tank.

Mounting It

The OBT007 goes on with the RSV4 on its stand. Use fresh fluid of the grade the RSV4 specifies, not what is left in the bottle. Everything removed from the RSV4 can go straight back on.

What Is in the Box

The OBT007 arrives as the tank, the cap and the gasket. LighTech keeps it as a stock item.

Order This With It

A mount is not included with the OBT007. The brackets are listed under OBT003, OBT008 and OBT009; they differ in height and projection, not in quality. Order the OBT007 together with a bracket and the RSV4 installation is complete.

Brake System and Road Approval

What looks like a cosmetic swap on the RSV4 is a change to a safety system. There is no type approval for the OBT007; we say that plainly rather than bury it. Ask your inspection body about the RSV4 before fitting, and do not skip the bleed.

Specifications

Brand: LighTech

Part number: OBT007

Type: Brake/clutch fluid reservoir

Capacity: 16 cm³

Shell: Billet aluminium, anodised

Liner: Translucent plastic

Seal: Rubber gasket under the cap

Bracket: Not included — OBT003 / OBT008 / OBT009

Colours: 8 — Black, Blue, Gold, Green, Grey, Orange, Red, Silver

Weight: 106 g

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/v_OBT007NER_657724d6-7617-452b-b1e1-29226c5c650f.png?v=1791205361
