The ISS119LA puts 132 mm guard length of aluminium between the MT-09 SP clutch lever and whatever reaches it. There are 8 bush colours to pick from, listed under the technical data. It is the cheapest safety part you can bolt to a MT-09 SP.

Key Features

LighTech part number ISS119LA, catalogued for the Yamaha MT-09 SP

Anodised rather than painted, so a scuff does not show raw metal on the MT-09 SP

Cut from solid rather than cast, which keeps the mating faces true

LighTech's own geometry, not a generic bar-end part

Colour changes the look of the MT-09 SP, not the fit

Original MT-09 SP controls stay exactly where they are

What Is in the Box

One guard per box — the MT-09 SP takes two for a matched pair. Bushes are part of the guard; the adapter for the MT-09 SP is the value chosen under “Adapter”. Packaging carries the reference, so a second order for the MT-09 SP is unambiguous.

Why Aluminium

Stiffness matters at the bar end of an MT-09 SP more than absolute strength does. LighTech cuts the ISS119LA rather than casting it, which keeps the mating faces true. On the MT-09 SP the extra grams buy a guard that does not give.

Fitment

LighTech lists the ISS119LA for the Yamaha MT-09 SP. No part of the MT-09 SP is drilled or cut; the guard mounts at the bar end.

Fitting

Allow a quarter of an hour per side on the MT-09 SP the first time. Re-check the fasteners after the first ride, as with anything at the bar end. Mirrors and bar-end weights have to come off the MT-09 SP first.

Choosing the Adapter

LighTech makes the guard and its mount as two parts; here they come in one order. Without the matching adapter the ISS119LA has nothing to bolt to on the MT-09 SP. The matching adapter is KPL311 (2021-2026) or KPL337 (2026); the guard alone is not a complete installation. Pick the matching one under “Adapter” — preselected is “With Adapter KPL311 (2021-2026)”, and the year span next to each value shows where it fits. If the adapter is already in the bar of your MT-09 SP, “Without Adapter” saves buying it twice.

Regulations and Road Use

No series we know of requires a clutch lever guard on an MT-09 SP. No approval document comes with the ISS119LA. Track and paddock use raise no question.

Technical Data

Brand:
